Do you often feel like there has to be more to life than this? Do you sometimes feel like you’re just drifting through life, and watching your days and weeks go by? If so, it may be that you’re not fulfilling your life’s purpose.
You were born with a purpose. And when you realise your purpose, you can positively affect those around you and live a life that is full of meaning and fulfilment. And I want to help you reach your full potential and live an abundant and fulfilling life!
I’ve created a system to help you narrow down your calling and find your purpose. Because knowing your purpose is the first step towards intentional living and pursuing a life with meaning.
But before you continue, I want to make sure you don’t miss the Ultimate Productivity Bundle SALE!! A huge collection of time management, goal setting and productivity resources on sale at 97% OFF for a few days only!! This is the perfect bundle to help you make the most of each moment so that you can pursue your purpose intentionally. Check it out here:
The first part of this system is a series of questions to help you focus in on your purpose. It’s a questionnaire that I call the L.I.V.E.N. quiz. Each letter stands for an element that you’ll be looking into; your Legacy, Interests, Values, Experiences and Natural talents.
- Legacy – it’s important to begin at the end. The culmination of your life’s work will determine the steps you take today!
- Interests – identifying the things that interest you and keep you excited and curious will mean you continue to grow throughout your life.
- Values – when you live according to your core values, you experience more joy and fulfilment.
- Experiences – your life experiences so far are useful guides. When we learn from our past, we make progress in our future.
- Natural talents – your God-given gifts and abilities are almost hard-wired into the fabric of your being. You can’t ignore these if you want to find your purpose!
It’s important that you answer all the questions as honestly and in as much depth as possible. There are no YES/NO questions here!
Basically, the more you can elaborate on an answer, the more helpful this exercise will be – trust me in this. No one will be grading this and you aren’t obliged to share it with anyone. So do yourself a favour and be brutally honest with yourself.
Bring It Together
The second part of my system includes a worksheet to help you draw out all of the answers from the L.I.V.E.N. quiz and gain greater clarity on your calling. This section helps you to find your purpose by refining all of your answers and distilling them down to your ultimate direction.
It’s important that this section isn’t done immediately after Part One. In fact, I strongly suggest taking some time to pray about all the answers you wrote down in the LI.V.E.N. quiz and continuing with Part 2 in one or two days time. Because if you put this to the side for a day or two and come back to it after a period of reflection, you will have more clarity.
Because of this, when you download Part One below, Part Two will be sent to your email inbox a day later.
Before you begin…
I recommend getting a pen, some highlighters and, if you’re a Christian, a bible. Now, I strongly suggest that you actually write this information out.
Don’t be tempted to type it into your phone or your computer. Our brains connect with information differently when we physically write things out. That’s why I created a free printable for you below. And what’s more, the information you’re going to be drawing out will most likely shape your future, so this shouldn’t be done whimsically!
Also, try and find a time when you can be alone in peace and quiet for 30-60 minutes (possibly more). This may mean doing this exercise after the kids have gone to bed, or before they wake up. Or getting out to a café by yourself. Ultimately, you’ll need time to reflect, pray and ponder undisturbed. This is important! So make an appointment with your future self – and keep it.
Now that you’re ready, let’s begin and find your purpose!
I’m so excited about the new clarity you will have on your direction when you’ve done this exercise! Let me know, by leaving a comment below of any exciting or encouraging epiphanies you’ve had!
